At work, have you ever felt like an alien in a land where you don’t belong?

When you have this feeling, you have a choice:

  • Assimilate — silence yourself and desperately try to understand what the others do, or
  • Rise — lean into your strange, misfit ideas and bring something new to the table.

This is what diversity is, and extraordinary things happen when it is present.

In venture capital, a common question is whether or not to share a deck or initial presentation without the other party signing an NDA — a Non-Disclosure Agreement.

INVESTORS WON’T DO THIS. We hear thousands of first pitches, often with similar companies. Signing NDAs at this level would be impossible for a VC to function.

Your first encounter should not reveal details that concern you if they are shared.

In fact, you need a PDA!

PDA — Please Disclose Agreement

Create an introduction to your company that everyone is excited to share.

Write in the footer: “Please feel free to share this pack with anyone you think would be excited to join our mission.”

That’s it. You’re done.
